Mermaid Fitness at the Del Coronado in San Diego.

You guys…. ITS HAPPENING.

ITS REALLY HAPPENING!

Im MOVING!

After 10 years in San Francisco, its time for a change and a bright new chapter.

San Diego will be my new home October 15th and I couldn’t be more excited to take life for a spin in  in sunny Southern California.

And to be totally honest? Im scared shi*less. I’ve built a life and business in SF. I don’t have work in San Diego (yet). But I do have a dream to follow and a gut that says YES. Yet still….. this is a major risk. A huge chance. A big leap.

A few months ago, I visited my 95 year old grandmother (who’s still kicking major life butt) and told her about my dream to move to San Diego. I was worried about taking a chance and regretting my choice, she hugged me and said, “Trust me, honey, that’s not what you’re going to regret when you’re my age.  If anything, you will likely kick yourself a little for not taking more chances on all of the possible opportunities you have today.”

She’s right. Life is too short to wait.

San Diego is calling and I must answer it.

I believe life is all about trusting yourself and taking chances, losing and finding happiness, learning from experience, appreciating the memories, realizing that every step is worth it. You just have to be willing to take those steps, trust yourself, and follow your heart. Every day is another chance to change your life. It’s NEVER easy, you have to do hard things to be happy. I am ready to work hard to make my San Diego dreams a reality.

What has kept me in San Francisco for 10 years has been my business and community. I love the people here and and the unique opportunities that living in this city has brought into my world. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been getting sentimental….

I mean its been ten years.

TEN! YEARS!

I feel like that in and of itself is an accomplishment. This city is beautiful but it’s also tough! Im proud of myself for the time that I’ve spent here.

I moved to San Francisco when I was 22, fresh out of college and ready to start a full time career in fitness. I chose to move to the city because I got a part time teaching job with EQUINOX fitness clubs and it had been a long time goal to join their talented team of instructors. At the time I didn’t have a plan other than teach, train, and build a business from the ground up. My mom helped me put a security deposit down on an adorable little studio in the heart of downtown, which at the time had the “reasonable” price of $1195 per month for rent (unheard of now in SF!). September 1st 2008 was the start of my life in SF. I’m amazed and grateful for all of the experiences living in this city by the bay has brought me. Each passing year has been a colorful chapter in my life. Here are some highlights that I’ll never forget:

And so many more….

Moving out of SF feels like the end of an era. Its amazing the amount of LIFE I’ve lived here from 22-32 years. But don’t worry, I don’t plan to GIVE UP SF. Actually, I plan to do BOTH.

My goal is to live in San Diego and travel to San Francisco once a month to host corporate wellness workshops for Bay Area companies and work with my SF based clients. I believe I can work in both of my favorite cities and I plan to hustle hard to make that a reality.

I remember once being nervous before speaking at a big corporate offsite on wellness. I called my Dad to ease my nerves, “Dad, this is the biggest group Ive ever presented for! Im so nervous.” He put my worries at ease when he replied, “But Caroline: you had Shaq take your spin class!!! You can TOTALLY do this.”

Now I remember his words every time I start to get anxious over any big life event. This story always makes me smile when Im scared and reminds me that if I can get Shaq to ride a TINY spin bike, I can do anything in life.

So it’s time to go for it. San Diego I’m coming for you. San Francisco, I’ll see you again soon.

Cheers to the end of an era and the start of a bright new chapter! Want to come along in my adventures? Stay tuned on the site for my upcoming events and classes in both San Diego AND San Francisco!
