Knee Strength Exercises Level 2. Build Strong Knees with this routine – really works!
Welcome to knee strength exercises level 2. I am Caroline Jordan your certified health and fitness coach, and this video is part of my 3 part series to help you re-align and strengthen the muscles around the knee for injury recovery and injury prevention. You will need a pilates mini ball or a pillow for this routine. As always get approval from your doctor or PT before doing this follow along video. You can show them this video in advance for permission, I have SO many doctors recommending their patients to my work now which is amazing because they are helping their patients use movement as medicine.
Help protect your knees by strengthening and improving mobility in the muscles that surround and support the knees like the quadriceps, inner thighs, hamstrings, calves, glutes — even the muscles in your ankles and feet. In this Knee strength exercise routine, we will focus on maximum muscle recruitment to help build a strong, supportive and flexible lower body that, if done regularly, could help prevent future knee pain during your favorite daily activities or workouts. Remember, not all exercises are suitable for everyone. If you are working with a specific knee injury, be sure to get your doctor and/or physical therapistโs approval before attempting this workout. If you suffer from knee pain regularly, be sure to consult a professional for an expert diagnosis. We will start on the mat and then progress to standing exercises. Move at a speed that feels right for you and feel free to modify as needed. Here are the exercises we will be doing together during this Strong Knee exercise video:
Knee strength exercises
- Bridge with ball
- Bridge with ball squeeze
- Inner thigh internal and external rotation
- Hamstring curl with ball
- Clamshell
- Standing straight leg raise with flexed foot
- Hold and ankle circles
- Quad extension with ball
- Chair ball squats
- Leg press with internal rotation
- Standing alternating knee raise
- Standing hip flexor stretch
- Quad stretch
To do this exercise video you will need a pilates mini ball, get one here on amazon.
Ready to get moving? Grab a CHAIR and a mini pilates ball (or scrunched up towel/ pillow). Feel free to use this video as often as needed for pain relief and progress.
