Golden State Warriors Basketball Workout. NBA Finals 2016!

Golden State Warriors Basketball Workout.

NBA Finals 2016!

It has been an exciting season of basketball in San Francisco. The Golden State Warriors won the NBA Finals last year and their star player, Stephen Curry, was the League’s MVP. And this year the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are meeting yet again in a highly anticipated rematch that has basketball fans on the edge of their seats. The entire Bay Area is excited to watch what might be the most epic showdown during the 2016 NBA Finals, will the Warriors defend their title against the Cavaliers? (We sure hope so!)

The basketball energy has been building in the Bay. After Shaquille O’Neal came to my spin class, I’ve been seeing NBA players all over the place. I teach fitness classes at both the Market and Pine Street EQUINOX clubs. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been working out at the Market Street EQUINOX, while all stars like Shaq and Grant Hill have been staying fit at the Pine Street location. Shaq comes to Pine Street so often we’ve become friends (exchanging fist bumps and “whats up” with him gives me a smile all day long). I’m starting to feel like NBA players are following me around…. I must be good luck or something!

The Warriors play with teamwork, hustle, and heart. They inspire us all to get in the game and score in life. All their hard work pays off, after all, rallying from a 3-1 deficit in the Western Conference Finals against OKC is no easy feat, but the Warriors did it, making them 1 out of 10 teams in NBA history to come back from a 3-1 deficit in a 7 game series. They are on a roll and we are all hoping to see them WIN the NBA Finals. Let’s think positive and send them good vibes. Want to cheer them on?! Do this workout, wish them luck, and put good endorphin energy out into the universe.

The below drills are designed to work on your strength, speed, stamina, and agility while burning calories and boosting energy. It’s a challenging workout – as always, please check with a doctor before beginning any new exercise routine. And note: *You DO NOT need a basketball or access to a basketball court field for this workouts. Just a positive attitude, a bottle of water, and some space!

Time for you to be your own MVP! Get in the game and let’s GO WARRIORS!

New Years. A time to reflect, goal set, and create a powerful and positive intention for the year ahead. A time to evaluate how you are living your life, how you WANT to be living your life, and to move forward with purpose. Setting powerful, detailed, and motivating goals inline with your life values is truly the way to create a year you love. But this takes time, energy, and effort; which can be challenging to create space for in your busy, successful life.

Thats why sometimes you need to get away. To distance yourself so that you can see clearly. To unplug from the world and plug into YOU. You know its true: the only way to have the time is to make it and the only way to create your life is by getting intentional on how you live it.

So where can you go to have distraction free space to give yourself time to renew and refresh your body and mind? You dont have to travel around the world, sometimes a weekend is all you need to restore your health and feel re-inspired. This year I have partnered with Solage Resort in Calistoga to host a New Years Wellness weekend just for you. An investment in your health and wellbeing is just the gift to give yourself this holiday season.  A little retreat may be the perfect experience to reboot your health and excite your spirit for the new year ahead. I believe a success is not something you have; it’s something you DO.  It’s something you experience when you wake up and act accordingly.  So let your first weekend of 2015 set the theme of proactivity and success that is certain to echo through your entire year. Let 2015 be the year you move forward with vision, motivation, and health. Let 2015 be the year you are good to yourself.

On the RADIO!

One of my goals for 2013 was to connect with and inspire others through more public speaking, events, and radio. And since vision boards DO come true, one of my goals has too. This month I was a featured guest on “Eat. Love. Live. Thrive” a web radio talk show with Registered Dietitian and Health Expert Corinne Dobbas. In our 30 minute talk show we had an honest conversation on how to stay healthy and happy in a stressed out society. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), 22% of Americans feel extremely stressed–so can you imagine how many feel slightly stressed? Through my work in wellness coaching, I have found that this stress has profound effects on the way we take care of ourselves, or should I say–how we don’t care of ourselves. It’s an overwhelming cause for people to feel negative, get frustrated, and to stop putting effort into their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We become unbalanced; and when we’re unbalanced, it’s hard to get back to a place of health and happiness.

Come on with us and listen in on our straight-up conversation on dealing with stress, how to see the positive (even when you feel super negative), how to make sure your goals are on target for where you are, tips on dealing with comparing yourself to others, and the basics on how to stay healthy and happy where you are right now, at this moment in time–regardless of everyone else around you. Click here to download and listen to the show:

Some topics covered in our 30 minute talk:

Leave me a comment when you listen to the show and tell me your biggest takeaway from my conversation with Corrine. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and to sharing future radio talks!

Theres one thing I know for sure, I wouldn’t be anywhere without all of YOU. Thanks for your continued support as I work towards accomplishing all of my personal and professional goals. Sky is the LIMIT and I plan on flying high with YOU!

With love and gratitude,

Then vs. Now. Reflections on my life in COLOR.

Lululemon Athletica is much more than just high quality spandex. Its a company that creates the components for people to live longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives. It is a company that is COMMITTED to living by it’s  manifesto. Want to be inspired? Read it below:

the lululemon manifesto

  • Drink FRESH water and as much water as you can. Water flushes unwanted toxins from your body and keeps your brain sharp.
  • A daily hit of athletic-induced endorphins gives you the power to make better decisions, helps you be at peace with yourself, and offsets stress.
  • Do one thing a day that scares you.
  • Listen, listen, listen, and then ask strategic questions.
  • Write down your short and long-term GOALS four times a year. Two personal, two business and two health goals for the next 1, 5 and 10 years. Goal setting triggers your subconscious computer.
  • Life is full of setbacks. Success is determined by how you handle setbacks.
  • Your outlook on life is a direct reflection of how much you like yourself.
  • That which matters the most should never give way to that which matters the least.
  • Stress is related to 99% of all illness.
  • Jealousy works the opposite way you want it to.
  • The world is changing at such a rapid rate that waiting to implement changes will leave you 2 steps behind. DO IT NOW, DO IT NOW, DO IT NOW!
  • Friends are more important than money.
  • Breathe deeply and appreciate the moment. Living in the moment could be the meaning of life.
  • Take various vitamins. You never know what small mineral can eliminate the bottleneck to everlasting health.
  • Don’t trust that an old age pension will be sufficient.
  • Visualize your eventual demise. It can have an amazing effect on how you live for the moment.
  • The conscious brain can only hold one thought at a time. Choose a positive thought.
  • Live near the ocean and inhale the pure salt air that flows over the water, Vancouver will do nicely.
  • Observe a plant before and after watering and relate these benefits to your body and brain.
  • Practice yoga so you can remain active in physical sports as you age.
  • Dance, sing, floss and travel.
  • Children are the orgasm of life. Just like you did not know what an orgasm was before you had one, nature does not let you know how great children are until you have them.
  • Successful people replace the words “wish”, “should” and “try” with “I will”.
  • Creativity is maximized when you’re living in the moment.
  • Nature wants us to be mediocre because we have a greater chance to survive and reproduce. Mediocre is as close to the bottom as it is to the top, and will give you a lousy life.
  • lululemon athletica creates components for people to live longer, healthier and more fun lives. If we can produce products to keep people active and stress-free, we believe the world will become a much better place.
  • Do not use cleaning chemicals on your kitchen counters. Someone will inevitably make a sandwich on your counter.
  • SWEAT once a day to regenerate your skin.
  • Communication is COMPLICATED. We are all raised in a different family with slightly different definitions of every word. An agreement is an agreement only if each party knows the conditions for satisfaction and a time is set for satisfaction to occur.
  • What we do to the earth we do to ourselves.
  • The pursuit of happiness is the source of all unhappiness.

This past week, a seemingly innocent afternoon invite to visit turned into a celebratory ambush complete with confetti, red pants, and french macarons. On Monday December 3 2012, lululemon athletica Grant Avenue PROPOSED and asked me to be a lululemon Ambassador for the 2013 year.

What is a lululemon Ambassador, you ask?
“Ambassadors are outstanding yogis, athletes, and fitness leaders within our communities who embody the lululemon lifestyle and live the our culture. These individuals personally contribute to our vision of elevating the world from mediocrity to greatness.” (

When the Ambassador program first began, it was purely a product feedback relationship, and has since turned into a lot more.  Now it’s a relationship between the Ambassador, the store and the community. Lululemon doesn’t “sponsor” athletes, so this is their way of getting to promote and connect with local instructors, athletes, and wellness professionals. They pick people active in the community who are passionate about their career and who’s work reflects the lululemon product, culture, and manifesto. I had the opportunity to represent Grant Avenue as an ambassador in 2009 and I am honored to have the chance to do it again in 2013.

My experience with lululemon has been more positive, powerful, and fulfilling than I ever could have imagined.  They sent me on an unforgettable trip to CANADA, filled my San Francisco years with memorable events, and have created a community that feels like family. I am so grateful to have this unique opportunity to represent the store and be an ambassador once more. I can’t stop smiling and I am looking forward to a year full of making memories with powerful people.

Looking back, I am a much different person now than when I first was an ambassador in 2009. The successes, failures, and learning lessons of the past  few years have allowed me to grow and slowly come into my own. It feels like I am an Ambassador for the first time all over again, as an upgraded version of Caroline, a stronger one. The line from the manifesto that relates most to me right now is “DO one thing a day that scares you”. This past year I have been earnestly challenging myself to leave the comfort zone and my life has blossomed as a result.  It’s astonishing how when you put your needs first, the rest of your life starts falling into place. This revolutionary concept serves as my motivation to keep moving forward, even when the path gets scary.

I’m proud of myself for overcoming fears, trusting my gut, and working hard towards living a life that feels right in my heart. I’ve learned to trust the process and be patient. It doesn’t happen all at once. You become and it takes a long time. I may not be there yet, but I am closer today than I was in 2009 and I owe part of my progress to lululemon. Their belief in me and loving support has often been the extra ammunition needed to keep me moving forward towards my goals. No person is an island and it’s helpful to have a team cheering me on in lululemon.

My biggest learning lesson from this past year is this: Doing one thing a day that SCARES you gives you freedom. It’s not easy. But if you can break down the walls and leave the cage of your fears: you will FLY, you will SOAR, you will be UNSTOPPABLE.

Thank you lululemon Grant Avenue for believing in me and helping me fly free. This will be my best year yet. Heres to a year  full of flying high, flying far, and doing one thing every day that scares you.

With love and gratitude,

Your SUPER EXCITED Ambassador for 2013,

27 Golden Truths

Being alive means experiencing life at its most exciting, scary, frustrating, joyous, mindblowing, heartwrenching highs, lows, and in-betweens. This past Thursday, September 27th I celebrated twenty-seven years of life. It was the most beautiful birthday filled with friends, family, and experiences I will remember for a lifetime. I feel blessed and am incredibly grateful for all the joy in my life.

My mother and I celebrating my Golden Birthday September 27 2012.

For me, Birthdays are a time for reflection, celebration, and a whole lot of French macarons. Looking back on the past twenty seven years, I started thinking about the things I know to be true in life thus far. Things I know and trust even if I havent articulated them yet. Things that keep me going even when the ride gets hard. Things that I know to be true without a doubt.

I wanted to share 27 Golden Truths that I’ve learned thus far. Life is a wild ride, it’s been a great journey and Im looking forward to learning more 🙂

27 Golden Truths

1. There is much I don’t know or understand and probably never will. And thats ok.

2. I can change my life at ANY time and any age. I can even run a marathon at 100. As can you.
3. For better answers, we need to ask better questions.
4. A set of chiseld abs means nothing if you have an ugly heart.
5. Nature impacts like nothing else can. Majestic. Breathtaking. Spirtual. Healing. Destructive. Unfathomably mysterious. Watching a sunset or sunrise, running to the Golden Gate Bridge, walking by the Bay are some of the times I am most connected to the world and my soul.
6. Life is infinitely better with a daily gratitude practice. The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of what they have.
7. No matter what happens I will be.okay. More than okay actually 🙂
8. Happiness is a form of courage.
9. When you feel good about yourself on the inside, youll project the same healthy energy outward. You won’t have to worry about how you look. Your body will naturally radiate health and fitness.  Wellbeing is an inside – out process.
10. If being healthy is stressing you out you’re doing it wrong.
11. That everything is better in color.

12. Vision and passion can conquer ANY obstacle. You will never know your limits till you push yourself to them. Make your determination bigger than your excuses.
13. Random acts of kindess make the world a better place and people, nicer. Everyone should do at least one a day. Smile, hug, make eye contact, drop coins in the meter. Endless ways to do good.
14. Miracles happen. I don’t know how, but the most mind blowing miracles happen on Earth every day.
15. Fear & comparison are the thieves of joy. The Darth Vader of happiness.  Inescapable.  But surmountable. Always.
16. My mind is my second most powerful ally. And worst enemy. The only thing more powerful, is my heart.
17. Its all about perspective. Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.
18. Humans are ridiculously resilient and adaptable. Survivors. Thrivers. Amazing.
19. You can only grow if you are willing to feel uncomfortable and awkward. When you try something new.

20. In the end, it’s not about the awards you got, the money you made, the things you bought. It’s about the EXPERIENCES you had. The lives you touched. The smiles you shared. How you made someone feel. Whether you followed your heart and dreams. Lived authentically.
21. A life lived true to your values is freakin’ hard and you’ll fall off and compromise more than once. But in the end, it’s having walked the path with heart that matters most.
22.  If it’s important to you you’ll find a way. If not you’ll find an excuse.
23. Success is a decision, not something that happens to you.
24. If life hands you lemons – then you should go to lululemon.

25. That its your life and if you dont live it… no one else will.
26. Sometimes you need to go slow to go fast.
27. Positive thoughts attract positive results and I am positive about that.

In a world where life happens while you’re busy planning it, where things turn on a dime and nothing is ever certain except change, what do you know to be true without a doubt?

What do YOU know to be true? Please share, thank you!

Thank you for celebrating twenty seven years with me. Looking forward to whats to come on this journey!

With love and gratitude,

“Ride, Support, Inspire.” The Tour De Pink!

As many of you know, I occasionally train at a studio called M2 Revolution in San Francisco. This studio is a unique indoor cycling facility in downtown San Francisco. Opening its doors in 2006, M2 was the first training center in the city to provide power-based cycling training based on sound training principles for improved fitness and performance. Riders of all abilities train at M2, and range from Cat. 1-4 competitive cyclists and triathletes, to weekend riders and general fitness enthusiasts. The common thread shared by these diverse abilities is an interest in getting maximum return for training time investment – to measurably improve one’s fitness. Michael McCormack (M2) is the founder and owner, and a former professional Ironman Champion and pioneer in performance training methodology. M2’s training expertise and program has been sought out by pro champions, and his classes have been enjoyed by thousands.

By working out at the studio I have met incredibly inspirational athletes and people. I feel lucky to share the space with them and am always looking for an opportunity to connect and make new fitness friends. Recently I met a cyclist named Cathy who shared her story and her commitment riding for not just one, but TWO cycling fundraisers to benefit the  fight against breast Cancer with the Young Survival Coalition’s (YSC) and the Tour De Pink. Cathy plans on riding a total of 425 miles to support women with breast cancer. It’s a huge challenge and I want to help her in her efforts in anyway I can.

Breast cancer is a topic near and dear to many of us. It is the most common form of cancer in women and the second leading cause of female deaths due to cancer (after lung cancer)   According to, an estimated 207,090 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in women in 2010 in the U.S.  Many are surprised to learn that breast cancer can also affect men, although the chances are reduced with one out of 100 cases being male. .

Because of people like Cathy and events like the Tour De Pink billions of dollars have been raised for research and we are starting to win the war against breast cancer. “The progress we have made over the last 20 years has changed the face of the disease for American women,” says Freya Schnabel, MD, director of breast surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center. “We can find it earlier, treat it more effectively, reduce recurrence, and enhance survival.”

Below is Cathy’s fundraising letter detailing her efforts and events. I believe in making a difference. Please join me in donating to the Young Survival Coalition and the Tour de Pink.

Let’s dream of a day where people diagnosed with breast cancer can have confidence that they will be not only be cured, but will go on to live rich, full and long lives.

Thanks again for being a wonderful fitness family. Lets make a difference!

“Dear Friends and Family,

I’ve made an exciting commitment to participate in BOTH the Young Survival Coalition’s (YSC) East Coast and West Coast Tour de Pink (TdP) rides. I will ride a total of 425 miles to support women with breast cancer. It’s a huge challenge, but I know that I can do it with your support!

To ride in both, I must raise a minimum of $5000. While that is a lot of money, I believe we can do it! I need your help!

The East Coast ride is September 28-30, 2012 from Philadelphia to Washington, DC and the West Coast ride is October 12-14, 2012 from Thousand Oaks, CA to Foothill Ranch, CA.

I made the decision to do the east coast and west coast rides, in part because cancer has profoundly affected my life this past year. I desperately want to do something concrete to support women with this horrible disease. I think that everyone, sadly, knows someone, friend and/or family, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The co-founder of the TdP has battled her fifth occurrence of cancer this year, since her initial diagnosis 12 years ago. She is my friend, an inspiration and a warrior. I want to honor her and the ride and organization she helped start. I am also riding in support of my friends fighting for their lives with grace, dignity and hope. I’ll ride for your friends and family, too!

Please help:

The money I raise will go to support the YSC, the premier non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and education to young women affected by breast cancer. With the motto “Ride. Support. Inspire,” the YSC Tour de Pink is much more than just a ride; it’s a chance to honor survivors, raise awareness and support important programs for young women with breast cancer. Your contribution will fund support and education programs, help support YSC’s mission to ensure no young woman faces breast cancer alone and raise awareness that young women can and do get breast cancer.

Fortunately, I am healthy right now and am grateful every day. Many of my friends and acquaintances are not. I want to celebrate my health and do my part to help others who are not so fortunate.

These are small rides—about 200 cyclists and every dollar counts. This is an incredible opportunity to support young women with breast cancer—your tax-deductible donation will make a difference. No donation is too big, nor too small. Every dollar helps. Please open your generous hearts and wallets and join me on this worthy journey.

Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. It means the world to me.
