As many of you know, high blood pressure runs in my family. I’ve always had to be mindful of keeping my blood pressure in check and using healthy lifestyle strategies like diet and exercise to maintain my heart health. Which is why you see so many blood pressure lowering workouts on my channel, I intimately know the value of leading a healthy lifestyle! Your heart is the unsung hero of your body, working tirelessly to keep you alive and thriving. It’s essential to show it some love in return, especially if you’re managing high blood pressure. Diet plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy blood pressure levels, and that’s what this video is all about.

A Day of Heart-Healthy Eating

In this YouTube video, I’m taking you through a day of mindful and heart-healthy eating. Now before I get into this video i just want to remind you that this video is not a recommendation on what you should eat or a representation of what I eat every day. This is a random day on a random week in my life and my diet needs will fluctuate on the regular. So take this video as inspiration and entertainment and really nothing else. Its always best to consult with a registered dietician to better understand your body’s unique needs especially if you are dealing with high blood pressure. We start our day with a nutritious breakfast—a bowl of oatmeal topped with fresh berries and some nuts.

For a mid-morning snack, we opt for rice cakes topped with Nutzo nut butter and jam —a nutrient-packed choice full of heart-healthy fats and fiber. Lunch is a vibrant high protein pasta with veggies and featuring Havens Kitchen’s Red Pepper Romanesco sauce. This sauce not only enhances the flavor but also keeps sodium in check, a vital consideration for those with high blood pressure.

Our afternoon snack is simple yet satisfying— veggies with hummus. It’s a crunchy and nutritious combo that helps maintain steady energy levels.

Dinner is a mouthwatering chicken and veggie hash stir fried with Havens Kitchen’s Edammame Green goddess Sauce. This low-sodium sauce is a flavor bomb, and it pairs perfectly with chicken, rice and veggies.
