Having a sculpted booty is often a goal of many….. But have you thought about the real benefits of having a strong butt? How well activated glutes can affect your posture, improve your athletic performance and reduce your chance of injury? For many individuals their glutes remain ‘inactive’ or ‘switched off’. Inactive glutes can mean that the muscles are weak and are not relied on as much as they should be during exercise.
Glute activation refers to ‘activating’ or ‘firing up’ the muscles in order to strengthen them. Strengthening this area helps with posture, relieves knee and lower back pain, and improves athletic ability (stronger butt and hamstrings means you can move faster with power!). 

I rarely meet a client who has never suffered from low back pain. Because we are constantly sitting at a desk, on the couch, at the dinner table, driving etc. our glutes are often “asleep” and low back pain can easily set in. Proper glute strength (starting with activation) combined with an efficient stretching routine can help combat or prevent this common issue. 

Your glutes (maximus, medius and minimus) make up the largest and strongest group of muscles in your body. What people tend to forget is that before you work to strengthen these muscles, you have to activate them. Thats why I created this quick, effective Glute Activation video routine.
